I am Celebrating my 10th Year in Business - in MARYBOROUGH ! (…since December 2009).  If my quote from Steffan is right, he said: "If you can do business in Maryborough, you can do business anywhere"

I Specialise in:
Baby Photography (I offer a FREE baby photo shoot), Portrait Photography (Family Portraits, Children Portraits, In-Home Portraits), Wedding Photography (including Beach Weddings), Maternity and Newborn Photography, Commercial Photography, Formal and Event Photography.
For all Portraits, Baby Photo Sittings, I offer several different packages to choose from. Photos are ordered in a Viewing Session (FREE), or by our *Online Web-Proofs System, or from a *Proofs CD. My clients are given flexible purchasing options to choose from; as well as standard individual custom prints.

What makes me Unique?
1. I openly display my PRICES ONLINE, and have done so for years. I believe in no hidden surprises, and want my customers to know my prices up-front. The risk I take doing this, is that any "Justadddigitalcameraandcallmeaprofessioanlbecauseiflukedagoodportraitorlandscape" person calling themselves a photographer can undercut me. So be it. My Integrity Quality and Service speaks for itself. Here's a test - ask others why their prices are not online !
2. All Photo "Prints" purchased with Ashley Smith Photography are CUSTOM PRINTS. In short, I whiten teeth and eyes, remove pimples / minor blemishes. (Further corrections can be requested; prices vary depending on the request - I've never, however, been asked to 'ADD'… a double chin).
3. I also offer LAYBY because I am a normal everyday person just like you who has budgets to live by, and I understand this!
4. I strive to give my customers exactly what they want.
5. My studio is available as a back-up-location for Wedding and Portrait Photography, if weather turns bad.
6. I am a proud member of A.I.P.P (Australian Institute of Professional Photography). In short, this means that the quality and service you receive from an A.I.P.P Accredited Photographer must meet international standards. Ultimately, your photographs are your memory keepsake.

I am passionate about my work, giving everyday people access to professional and personalised photography that they can afford.

I'm a proud dad to 3 beautiful kids, whom I adore. My business generally operates around my availability with my parenting time, which is why my new shop is open by appointment only.

Associate Diploma of Arts (Applied Photography) and a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Photography Major).

Why be a Photographer these days? Well, I am passionate about what I do. I guess the big kick I get from my work is to succeed in a challenging photo shoot. Any idiot can point and shoot - it takes skill to capture the right moment and to portray it in an exciting and artful way. Of course, not everyone wants this; most people just want a representation of themselves that they are happy with. Again, a skill that seems easier than it is.  I have had parents say - "Good luck getting a decent shot of our kids", and when we are able to present them with more than what they want, and to see their expression… it's priceless. This industry calls for emotion and to be able to capture that emotion. As for me, by now you have guessed I have a sense of humour! How would we get by without being able to laugh in this life ?!?!?!?! I am used to getting a smile out of people, even if it means I have to "perform" for it, but I'd rather enjoy watching someone else do the performing!
